Summary: The Coffee Bean by Jon Gordon

Life is often like a pot of very hot water. It can be harsh, stressful and difficult place. It can weaken or harden you if you let them.

What happens when you put a carrot in really hot water?

The carrot is softened and weakened by its environment.

What happens when you put an egg in really hot water?

The egg is hardened by its environment.

The egg becomes mean, angry, negative and sometimes numb because of the difficult environments they’re in. The egg grows to hate life and hate people.

What happens when you put a coffee bean in really hot water?

The coffee bean transforms the environment.

No matter where you go, what you do, remember you’re a coffee bean.

You have the power to transform any environment you’re in.

No matter how hard things get, or how hopeless things look, don’t give up.

Realize we don’t create our world from outside in. We create and transform it from inside out.

The power is on the inside. Be the coffee bean.
